 Job Duties 1. Registers patients, updates demographics. Ensures that patients understand payment and other financial issues.

2. Coordinates referrals, interacting with payors and patients to ensure that referrals requested by physician are arranged and documented.

3. Operates multiline telephone, answers all calls promptly, records and provides accurate messages to staff and triages calls and sorts mail.

4. Performs data management activities such as ensuring updates in IDX. Collects encounter forms, verifies that forms have needed information (CPT and DX codes) physician signatures, etc.

5. Schedules patients to include new evaluations, clinic visits, tests and follow-up visits. Maintains logs, verifies that patient registration number is current. May schedule clients for classes offered. Calls in cancelled and arranges for rooms, setup, etc.

6. Operates departmental office equipment. Types departmental correspondence efficiently and accurately. Maintains organized patient medical records. Keeps filing up to date. Completes monthly reports, such as patient volume report and practice analysis report.

7. Makes hospital rounds to lab, pharmacy, radiology, central supply and other departments as necessary. May visit antipautum high risk patients admitted to hospital with diversional activities.

8. Keeps track of all sales and rentals. Re-orders as needed. May assist with new ideas and services for Women's Center. Makes weekly deposits and reconciles statements and monthly activity log. Processes all purchase orders to payment of invoices for products received. Follows-up on invoices.

9. Provides administrative support to medical directors and Graduate Medical Education department as needed. Schedules meetings, organizes calendars, and prepares correspondence, etc.

10. Responds to patients' and/or family's complaints. Serves as advocate to patient and/or family. Reports complaints to Manager or their designee. Utilizes chain of command to resolve patient, operational, or personal work related problems.

11. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Attends at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and 100% of mandatory educational sessions.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
