1. BSN and one (1) year RN experience in acute care setting.
**Current Texas RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification, course accredited by the American Heart
Association (AHA) required.**; OR
2. Graduation from approved school nursing and no experience
necessary. **Eligibility for RN licensure in State of Texas, and

| Job Duties |
1. Performs clinical assessments. Works with healthcare team to plan
care for patients.
2. Ensures continuity of care from admission to discharge of patient.
3. Assists physicians with procedures in order to ensure all factors,
such as permits, procedures, correct equipment, safety, and
infection control, are covered.
4. Demonstrates competency in caring for populations ranging from
adolescent through geriatric.
5. Works to educate patients and their families with regard to post-
discharge care.
6. Provides supervision of, and direction to, unlicensed personnel
and nurses new to unit.
7. Reports errors promptly and takes appropriate follow-up action to
rectify them.
8. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed.
Attends 100% of staff meetings and mandatory educational sessions.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
