| Job Duties |
1. Developing philanthropic strategies that align with institutional
strategic priorities of UT Southwestern Medical Center. Among
these are formulation and execution of a campaign to support plans
for a new university hospital as well as sustaining research,
clinical and education programs.
2. Developing a comprehensive and balanced development program
including sustained success in major gifts as well as expanded base
of a nascent alumni relations. Focus is needed on development of
a robust annual giving program as part of a long-term strategy to
build institutional support.
3. Assessing and realigning the current staffing model to build an
active development structure, one that serves all of the
institution's units and schools, and build the operational
infrastructure necessary to support it.
4. Creating robust and highly proactive annual, major and deferred
giving programs, whereby progress can be measured quantitatively.
5. Ensuring that a strong planned giving program is developed to
allow new and contemporary giving vehicles for donors, and using
it to expand and extend the present base of philanthropic support
as major donors focus both on life income gifts and estate plans.
6. Managing the Center's foundation applications, including tracking
them through funding.
7. Monitoring institutional compliance with donor restrictions on
gifts and endowments.
8. Managing the donor reports for endowments and non-peer reviewed
grants from foundations.
9. Developing effective interface with Southwestern Medical Foundation
as well as the St. Paul Medical Foundation, enhancing and leading
a productive, collaborative partnership with each organization
to optimally achieve university development goals.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
