Experience & Education Required (any one of the following):

1. Bachelor degree in related field and ten (10) years progressively responsible, related experience to include at least three (3) years in supervisory capacity are required.

Security This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
 Job Duties 1. Directs and coordinates activities for the Office of Grants Management of the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

2. Responsible to lead, manage, and oversee activities for timely submission of research grant proposals to external sponsors including federal, state, local, private agencies and the processing of subsequent awards. Work closely and effectively with the Office of Post Award Administration to ensure financial obligations are coordinated and met including prior approvals.

3. Recommends changes, reviews progress, approves proposals and oversees the development and maintenance of procedures for the electronic processing, routing, submission and tracking of grant proposals and awards.

4. Leads and coordinates efforts with Information Resources to support personnel to develop, maintain and manage electronic grant proposal routing systems, databases, web pages, and reporting. Implement and oversee an on-going educational and training program for faculty and staff relating to proposal development, routing, submission and grant management.

5. Manages utilization of various resources to maintain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.

6. Oversees the preparation and execution of agreements and subcontracts with federal and non-federal sponsors.

7. Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.

8. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

9. Maintains confidentiality as appropriate.

10. Oversees budget expenditures and scheduling.

11. Oversees supervisors and/or subordinate managers to include establishing priorities.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
