Experience & Education Required (any one of the following):

1. High school diploma or GED and 10 years related experience in complex commercial or institutional construction. If not currently certified as an Electrician, must be certified within 18 months of employment.

Security This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
 Job Duties 1. Conducts daily observation of construction work for compliance with approved contract drawings and specifications.

2. Requests for information change orders and approved submittals and shop drawings.

3. Issues observation reports noting conditions of non-compliance.

4. Maintains and organizes on-site project documentation. Survey construction progress to confirm percent complete by trades.

5. Coordinates and monitors material and systems testing. Monitor commissioning process, including equipment testing. Monitors logs for retesting.

6. Assists in resolving construction issues involving electrical system(s), architectural/structural, or mechanical issues. Drafts field directives and field orders for RCM approval. Confirms pricing.

7. Coordinates with campus facilities and operations when utility outages, noise control, traffic control or security as required by the work.

8. Attends early morning, evening, or after hours installations (ex: concrete pours) requiring owner representation. Flexible hours required for construction observation.

9. Attends pre-construction meetings and regular onsite construction meetings. Facilitate pre-installation meetings between contractor and subcontractors prior to start of electrical systems or mechanical systems as required by specs.

10. Attends pre-outage planning meetings. Monitors project site safety and close-out procedures, including O&M manuals, as-builts, punchlists and warranty walk-thru. Issues punchlists for above ceiling, open wall and substantial completion inspections and revisits to confirm completion.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

 Comments Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
