| Job Duties |
1. Manages daily activities of program support staff by
monitoring workload, reviewing staff evaluation, establishing
staff productivity benchmarks, recommending changes to
institutional and/or departmental policy and procedures, and
maintaining effective staffing levels for department.
2. Provides overall direction and management to program support
staff by overseeing awards, monitoring and reviewing revenues, and
expenditure and budget revisions to ensure compliance with award
requirements.
3. Reviews and interprets grant and contract documents to ensure
applicable policies and procedures.
4. Performs financial analysis and audits of research awards and
expenditures to provide senior management with timely financial
status reports of research programs.
5. Prepares and/or supervises preparation of monthly financial
reports, schedules for annual financial reports, and reports to
award agencies as well as government agencies, ensuring
conformance of such reports with applicable procedures and
regulations of University of Texas System and Federal and State
agencies.
6. Identifies areas of poor financial performance of grant awards,
presents findings, and makes recommendations for correction
to upper management.
7. Conducts and oversees timely performance evaluations of
departmental staff.
8. Completes more complex special projects as requested.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

| Comments |
This position will be responsible for institutional costing projects,
the F&A Rate preparation and require advanced access software knowledge
and an understanding of A-21 regulations. This position also requires
knowledge of activity reporting, space usage surveys and account
classifications. The incumbant will assit in the preparation of
recurring reports and special analysis of research funding and
expenditures.
