| Job Duties |
1. Understands and accurately completes quantitative image analysis
procedures and fluorescent in-situ hybridization (FISH) assays and
enumeration process.
2. Produces high quality imaging and reports as needed.
3. Responsible for completion of cases within established turn around
time in order to ensure optimal patient care.
4. Determines appropriate diagnosis with regard to tissue morphology
as it pertains to invasive cancers, in-situ cancers, and benign
processes. Confers with peers and Pathologists for accurate
diagnosis as needed.
5. Completes special assignments and develops new procedures and
protocols as appropriate.
6. Understands and ensures compliance with applicable laws,
regulations, policies, and procedures.
7. Stays abreast of current developments, advancements, and trends in
fields of immunohistochemistry and image analysis by attending
seminars and conferences, reading professional journals, and
participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge
into current work practices.
8. Works with Clinical Laboratory Manager to improve work processes
and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations for appropriate
changes in support of overall goals of laboratory and university.
9. May provide working supervision of laboratory personnel in lower
grade.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
