| Job Duties |
1. Ensure the highest level of quality, safety and service to all
patients, families and visitors in the University's healthcare
facilities.
2. Coordinate efforts to plan for a new University Hospital.
3. Lead the planning process for development of key clinical service
lines.
4. Serve as a member of the Health System and Practice Plan Boards.
5. Identify and implement programs to integrate and synthesize the
hospital patient care services with the practice plan's.
6. Oversee managed care contracting for the hospital and practice
plan.
7. Actively participate in contract negotiations with affiliated
facilities such as Parkland, Dallas Children's and the Dallas VA
Hospital.
8. Assure the implementation of key strategic goals from the
President's Strategic Planning Task Forces, especially the Clinical
Transformation Project Group.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

| Comments |
The EVP, Health System Affairs is a senior health care executive with
extensive experience in personnel management, operations, institutional
and professional business planning, strategic planning, and hospital and
practice plan management in an academic setting. The EVP will work
closely with the President, the Dean of the Medical School, and their
Senior Leadership teams in setting and meeting goals for the UT
Southwestern Health System, which is composed of the University's
hospitals, clinics and practice plan. This position will be responsible
for ensuring efficient and productive administrative operations for the
health system, as well as developing and implementing key new
initiatives and the integration of the clinical strategic plan into
the research and educational missions.
