Experience & Education Required (any one of the following):

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related clinical science. AND certification as MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA). AND 5 years clinical laboratory experience. ASQ certification preferred. Two or more years previous supervisory experience preferred.  

2. Previous experience with Process Improvement teams and responsibility for laboratory QC programs. Previous experience with the CAP inspection process.

 Job Duties 1. Ensures that the company philosophy and core values are evident in the service delivered to customers.

2. Takes responsibility for seeking and achieving professional growth and continued education. Completes annual competency assessment successfully.

3. Assures compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety and other regulatory standards, including privacy and security of health information (PHI).

4. Supports Company and host hospital objectives, decisions, and policies by deed and speech.

5. Designs and maintains the on-going Quality Management Plan to include all phases of testing: pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical.

6. Prepares monthly Quality Management summary reports for laboratory administration and the leadership team. Provides education of laboratory employees regarding the quality management plan, quality improvement initiatives and outcomes.

7. Assures annual competency assessment of all lab employees.

8. Monitors problems, associated quality and safety concerns, and complaint reports to identify needs for improvement; implements corrective actions and monitors.

9. Interacts with laboratory administration, customer service team, and host hospital quality departments to identify and correct problems that may interfere with patient care services.

10. Monitors key quality indicators monthly to detect problems and opportunities for improvement.

11. Serves on process improvement teams, documents progress, and monitors on-going status. Interacts with all technical department QC coordinators to ensure problems identified by QC or PT are incorporated into the Quality Management Plan.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
