Experience & Education Required (any one of the following):

1. Bachelor's degree and three to five (3-5) years experience in field of Physical or Occupational Therapy having worked in variety of clinical settings with one (1) year being in rehabilitation and as Clinical Instructor required. **Current Physical or Occupational Therapy licensure in State of Texas.**

 Job Duties 1. Observes, develops, implements and clarifies policies, procedures and regulations to facilitate department operation that are consistent with legal and organizational guidelines. Communicates new or modified hospital policies and procedures as well as new treatment techniques to personnel thoroughly and promptly.

2. Sets goals and objectives consistent with organization goals and develops effective action plans for their achievement. Prepares monthly analysis of quality assurance activities and data collection. Evaluates reporting methods to ensure quality care and reporting of services.

3. Develops treatment services for those populations undeserved by Physical and Occupational Therapy.

4. Monitors departmental productivity by comparing actual to budgeted activities, monitoring census and patient acuity to determine and maintain optimal levels of productivity. Demonstrates responsibility for containment of hospital costs through appropriate ordering of supplies, recovery of patient charges and conservation of supplies. Prepares variance reports to explain budget deviations and assists with future budgeting as requested.

5. Ensures that all reports are completed in timely manner. Maintains departmental records as required by law and organization. Conducts performance evaluations in timely manner as required using objective evaluation techniques. Councils staff on ways to improve work skills to improve overall performance.

6. Passes competency reviews. Responds to all task or performance- related questions patiently and thoroughly, providing context as well as direction. Adheres to evaluations, assessment, treatment, and documentation accountabilities and criteria as described in job description for Physical Therapist.

7. Uses sound judgment in stressful and emergency situations involving patient, family, or staff. Interacts with other levels of management on regular basis for planning and coordination of services and programs. Develops and implements educational programs for staff as required.

8. Performs other related duties assigned or requested.
